I finally came back from Mexico after nearly spending six weeks there. I had to use that open plane ticket that I had from May 2006. In the meantime, I had the last intensive German course. It was so hard that it took most of the free time I had. Then in January 2007, my relatives gave me the news that they wanted to remodel their house, and that there was no more place for me there.
A classmate from the German course (Akhsa Manurung) offered me a room in her flat while her sister was away in Indonesia. I didn't think it twice and moved in right away. During that time, money became very tight. The rent I was paying (250 EUR) was half of my parents' monthly allowance.
But here is the good news: I received a letter of acceptance from the University of Göttingen. And even better, a couple of days later I also received a letter of confirmation for a room in a students' residence (Rosenbachweg)!
In mid-March, I packed my things again, and I moved to my beautiful 12-square-meter room on the third floor, in the middle of a forest, and near the faculty where I'll go every day from 8 a.m. to noon for the lectures.
